The 5 Most Common Lies We Tell Ourselves About Change

Hey there! Let me tell you, life can be one heck of a grueling process, right? It's like being stuck in a loop of mess after mess, drama after drama, and failure after failure. Trust me; I can totally relate! But hey, it's time to break free from that loop and start our epic pivot journey!

I've been through my fair share of struggles—financially, emotionally, and physically. I was living a life of poverty, not just financially, but in my mindset and habits too. I felt lost, bound by others' expectations, yearning to break free and discover the real me.

It took me a while to realize that all the praying, hoping, and dreaming weren't enough. I needed to take action and make a change. So, after hitting a breaking point in my thirties, I decided to take my first leap into reinvention—a pivotal moment that changed everything.

Since then, I've been on a journey of constant pivoting. Some changes were huge, like packing my bags and leaving everything behind. Others were smaller, like tweaking my eating habits. But no matter the size, every change has been crucial for moving forward.

Perspective is Everything.

"Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change." - Wayne Dyer

Now, let's tackle those common setbacks that hold us back:

1. "It's too late." Nope, not true! It's never too late until we take our last breath. Even the withered plant can bloom with intention and effort.

2. "I don't know how." Forget that excuse! In this day and age, information is at our fingertips. We have the internet, videos, ebooks, and communities ready to share knowledge.

3. "I don't know what I want." Hey, that's okay! It happens when we lose sight of ourselves in fulfilling others' expectations. Discovering what you want starts with knowing who you are.

4. "No one around me can help me." While your immediate environment might not offer the support you need, remember, help is out there. Seek like-minded people and build your tribe.

5. "I'm scared." Fear is natural, but it shouldn't stop you. Accept its presence but don't let it drive your decisions. Put measures in place to keep moving forward despite the fear.

Now, let's get to the juicy part—the three key areas for successful change: Motivation, Moderation, and Management.

First, let's dig deep into your Motivation: Who are you? What drives your actions? What do you truly want, and what's your purpose in this pivot?

Next up is Moderation: Set your goals, identify the skills you need, and create a game plan. Take baby steps and follow through.

Lastly, the Management phase: Time for action! Execute your plan, reassess, and adjust as needed. You'll develop momentum and strength for future changes.
